Your doing great!

As a single parent, it’s always a balance. Your time with your kids is limited and you want to make every second count. You wonder if you’re doing enough, or if they even recognize or appreciate you.
That’s why it was so meaningful last Friday when I was giving a speech online to the audience at SuperCrowd25. My son Elliott came over and began poking my arm insistently.
I gave him a look like, “Please don’t poke my arm. I’m giving a speech for hundreds of people right now. We talked about this and you know the consequences.”
But he didn’t give up. Mid-speech, he whispered, “Mom! You need to hear this.” Thinking it must be real trouble, I prepared for the worst when he passed me a message on a pink Post-It note.
In his sixth grade penmanship (we’ll work on the spelling), he’d written:
“Your doing great.”
In that moment, everything was right in my world.
If you’re wondering how I’m doing this week, I’m doing great. 🩷
